I am looking for a good way to entertain my dad’s friends coming over for a reunion. They have not seen each other for many years after their retirement from their respective jobs. We are talking about 70-somethings here, all of whom, thankfully, are living the good life and well cared for by families. During their younger years, this gang used to take a week off from work and their usual ordinary lives to spend it in Vegas, and enjoy its gambling and entertainment industry. This “tradition” stopped when one of them suffered a stroke and had to be confined to his home, unable to fully care for himself and with no capability to travel alone. With this predicament, the guys are contended with just staying over his house, keeping him company for a couple of days, still having a great time. That started the stay-over tradition. Now it is our time to host it. At least Uncle Sam (the one who is recovering from the stroke) can now join, with his caregiver in stride, also staying for the weekend.
